As we all know, in this modern age, our
technologies has developing rapidly including the developing of Artificial
Intelligence. Have you guys ever heard about Artificial Intelligence? or maybe
AI? In a simple term, AI is a set of technologies that enable machines to
perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. This progress has
benefited various sectors and education sector is no exception. In education,
AI tools are increasingly being used to enhance the learning experience. AI-based
applications for higher education have been growing rapidly across the world
and have affected higher education institutions in Latin America, where AI
research is being carried out and some AI applications are being implemented to
improve university services, help teachers to offer quality education, and
support student learning. (Salas-Pilco, S. Z., & Yang, Y., 2022).
Over the past few months,
I've had the chance to work with various types of AI tools which I've never
heard before, and it's been a mix of excitement and also frustration. I've
found lots of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Turnitin and Gemini. AI tools
have made my academic journey more easier where those tools help in improving
my academic perfomance. However, I had also faced few challenges every time I
used those AI tools. So, in this entry, I'm going to share my experience
throughout my journey in using AI tools.
First and foremost, using AI
platform like ChatGPT and Copilot offers me an interactive learning experiences
that helps me grasp complex concept more easily. These platforms provide me
instant feedback, making my learning more engaging where they allow me to ask
questions, explore different perspectives and give explanations that match my
understanding. Other than that, AI platform like Turnitin provide originality
checking service to prevent plagiarism. It is really helpful as I only have to
submit my work and Turnitin will compare it to its database of student work,
websites, books and articles. Turnitin then will generates an originality
report that show how much of my work matches other sources. Lastly, I oftenly
use AI tools to generates idea for my work everytime I feel stuck or unsure
about how to continue my assignment. It really helps me as it sparks my
creativity when I’m feeling blocked. Having this instans help allows me to keep
making progres and enhance the overall quality of my assingment.
However, despites the many
advantages, I also faced few challenges when using AI in my academic work. One
of them is, the risk of over-relying on AI for ideas or solutions. This things
made me feel worry as it will limiting my ability to use my own creativity and
critical thinking. In order to overcome this, I will set a clear boundaries for
AI use. For example, I only use AI to brainstorming my ideas and only turn to
AI when I’m truly stuck. Next, the potential for receive false and inaccurate
information from AI’ responses. To avoid this, I will make sure to double-check
everything in my work to ensure that all sources are properly cited and
referenced.
In a nutshell, while the development of AI have undoubtedly enhanced my academic experience, they also come with setbacks that require careful management, Hence, I need to set boundaries on how and when to use AI, ensuring I remain actively involved in the creative and critical thinking process. As AI continues to evolve, I’m excited to explore how it can further support my academic journey.
I think we have reach the end. Feel free to leave comment here and I will reply as soon as I finish my works. Thanks for reading everyone !
